According to Active Beat, they possess Bovine Growth Hormone (BGH), a synthetic hormone engineered in a lab to boost the cows' milk production. They added that these hormones are passed to humans that cause certain types of cancers. However, the American Cancer Society more research is needed to help better address these health concerns.

Bags of these snacks might be available in your pantry. According to Live Strong, the harmful effects of these rounded snacks come from the cooking they have undergone. The process of blanching and frying loses the beneficial nutrients and antioxidants present in the potatoes. 

Active Beat adds that medical scientists that potato chips and other deep-fried foods are accountable for a few thousand cancer annually in North America.

Active Beat reports that vegetable oil has is extremely high in omega-6 fatty acids. WebMD adds that high intakes of these fatty acids can increase the risk of developing high blood pressure and diabetes.
