An Inspiration that Started at a Zoo

The Chinese man also shared, since he started doing the workout, he's never been to a hospital. He also said the inspiration to create the monkey-walking workout came after he observed several monkeys that played at a zoo, three decades ago.

He was 20 years old, Mr. Chen told Pear Video, when he started doing the walking exercise. He also added that he frequently watched monkeys at the zoo, thinking they "looked so fun" and started to imitate them.

This Chinese man shared he already took the walking exercise to a level higher following his mastery of the monkey's movement.

The Monkey Movement

The idea of using animal movements for exercise or training is not a new practice. Those who regularly do their workouts surely knows what this means.

Customary disciplines like the Shaolin Kung Fu has employed animal-like workouts to develop movements of what's described in Chinese fitness as "incredible strength and grace."

One who visits the playgrounds is sure to see children "crouching, crawling, and climbing" as to how he sees mammals do the same movements.

Specifically, the monkey walk exercise is simple enough for almost all people to learn regardless of their age and gender. However, what makes it even better is that the exercise is scalable and adjustable for a lot of various purposes and levels of difficulty.

Some fitness experts say this holds for a lot of other exercise movements. Indeed, they claim, there is really no such thing as "easy movement" as it all depends according to how well one utilizes such a movement is a movement flow or training.

There are lots of benefits one can get from doing the monkey walk movement. Aside from the probability of not getting ill anymore like Mr. Chen's shared experience, this exercise has many other benefits too.

First, those who have tried the monkey walking exercise and movement claim, they're perfect for "shoulder strength, mobility, and stability. Another benefit of this extraordinary workout is that it is great for hip mobility, too.

All you need is your own bodyweight to execute the movements. And, since humans are naturally unique when it comes to the ability to run, walk, jump, climb, carry and lift, you can definitely do the animal-movement exercise, be it a money-like or any other mammal.
