4 Nexcare Products Everyone Should Keep At Home

Nexcare is 3M's personal health care brand that competes with Johnson & Johnson's Band-Aid brand in the adhesive bandage and first aid market.

To apply Nexcare Waterproof Bandages, first, clean the wound thoroughly. Next, pull the wrapper apart. Then, grasp the end tab and peel the bandage off the wrapper. Next, apply to the wound, pressing firmly; the bandage will not stick if repositioned. Finally, remove paper frames at openings.

It is recommended that you change your bandage every day, or several times a day. Fortunately, Nexcare Waterproof Bandages do not need to be changed if they become wet.

To remove a bandage/tape that will not release easily from your or your child's skin, work a small amount of baby oil or cooking oil into the adhesive to help the bandage release from the skin.

Here are our recommended picks from Nexcare:

1. Nexcare Acne Cover (Click the link to check the price)

These absorbing covers were heralded as the best pimple patches for treating cystic, hormonal acne -- the kind that does not normally respond to spot treatments and becomes your monthly nemesis ahead of your period.

Nexcare Acne Covers are made as heavy-duty and clinical as they can get. They come with the biggest circular stickers for convenience.

2. 3M Nexcare Acne Patch (Click the link to check the price)

These small round rubber pieces made out of water-based material are mini versions of a medical dressing called the 3M Tegasorb that is used in hospitals to absorb wounds.

The product claims to be a hydrocolloid dressing which absorbs secretion and promotes the healing of acne.

To use it, clean your face and pat dry first. Then, slowly remove the first layer of film and using a tweezer or needle, peel off an acne patch according to the size of your acne spot and stick it on.

3. 3M Nexcare Waterproof Tape (Click the link to check the price)

The 3M Nexcare Waterproof Tape is waterproof when it is initially applied dry or to dry skin. The tape will not stick if the skin is wet. It is designed to help protect you from blisters. The Nexcare first aid tape is for prevention instead of cure.

You can stick it on all of the hard-to-get places including in between your fingers and toes, the tips of your fingers, the palm of your hand, and the inside of your armpit because it conforms and flexes with the movements of your body.

4. 3M Nexcare Durable Cloth Tape (Click the link to check the price)

This waterproof tape would not stick to the cloth which can be a problem for securing dressings.

Rest assured, it will not leave behind a sticky residue on the skin that takes days to come off. It is a similar price per length as compared to the cheapest 3M ones. Because it is permeable to air, this promotes better healing for long term wound care.
